Joe and I met Barbara 10 years ago at she and Gary's wedding. We had known Gary for about 17 years through a communication group, which had met regularly for that amount of years. Gary had always talked about Barbara so admirably, and each book she published, we could see and feel his pride in her.

We got to know Barbara really well, when all of us were out of our homes, because of mold. We ended up at the same apartments together. Misery loved company, so we created a "mold support group". Barbara's personality was so "upbeat", that even when she complained, it was so much fun to listen! Anyway, out of our breakdown with our home, the breakthrough was getting Barbara in our lives.

For three years, we went out to dinner, at least once a week, and, frequently, saw some award-winning movies, which we all didn't get why they were so highly judged! With Barbara's intricate mind--if she didn't "get them", we, for sure, didn't.

Even, during the hard times of her sister's illness, she would, continuously, look for that "silver lining". She asked us to do some special Jewish prayers. Barbara had all religions and spirituality groups involved in praying for Carol's recovery. We would talk regularly, and, I hope I was of some support for her, during those stressful times.

Barbara loved our previous Bichon dog, as well as Teddy, our present one. When each one would see Barbara coming, they looked like they were in paradise. Her "springy" voice sent them into ectasy.

She gave me many gifts on occasions, but the one I treasure most was her beaded necklace, which I wear frequently.

I was always in awe of Barbara's intelligence--I felt so inadequate when we played "Trivia" with her. She always knew all the answers!

We always felt safe, when talking with Barbara, about personal things--she would always find that silver lining, and we felt much better afterward.

Barbara will always be in our hearts, with that special gift of love she had for us all and will continue to spread through all eternity.
