Poem for my wife

I wrote this poem for the memory of my wife. It was inspired by a snow angel Barbara Vance made in Alaska as a tribute

To my wife. I hope she posted it also.

The Alaskan snow angel made me cry

The essence of Barbara, the rose petals tossed

Her death, my world, suddenly awry

The anguish, the despair, this sudden loss

My heart sings out, oh God let me die!

Her passion, her charge, lingers in the air

The light, the beauty, no longer aglow

The dry winds of grief, life left so sere

I stumble through life nothing left to show

I cry out my pain in wild desperate despair!

Her hand, her heart, torn from my arms

The author, the mentor, lost to us all

Her love, her compassion, all part of her charm

Leaves this world in shock and appall

God! God! God! Why, how, this harm?

The emptiness of a snow laden hill

The shimmering light of the aurora borealis

Moon glimmers, dogs howl, leaves a shuddering chill

Must we accept what cold fate dealt us?

My heart, my light, I love you. I always will!
